Mounir Fatmi at the BOZAR, Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels, Belgium

Fatmi participates in a group exhibition titled RESIST! The 1960s Protests, Photography and Visual Legacy opening on 27 June at the BOZAR, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Belgium.

Precisely fifty years ago, Parisian students took to the streets to protest against conservative society and its moral ideals. At the same time, the concert hall of the Palais des Beaux-Arts was occupied for three months by young rebels, artists and intellectuals. Taking as a starting point "May 68", this festival highlights the turmoil that marked the 1960s: the Russian tanks that put an end to the Prague Spring, the Vietnam War raging, the civil rights movement that upsets the United States and the wave of wars of independence that sweeps across the African continent.

The exhibition is on view until 26 August, 2018.
