Fatmi participates in a group exhibition titled Motherland in Art on view between 27 April and 30 September, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow, Poland.
'Artists have long adopted the model of a global motherland. They communicate in the global language of images and move between living in different countries with ease, in each finding fodder for their imagination. The new locations are all the more useful to them, since they somewhat alter the symbolic significance of the familiar images.'
