Matter Matters is the first monograph of Berlin-based Tunisian Russian artist Nadia Kaabi-Linke, charting her practice until 2015, including photographs, drawings, conversations, working journals and commissioned essays. Published by Kerber in collaboration with Dallas Contemporary and Lawrie Shabibi, and with generous support from the Burger Collection, the Barjeel Collection, UBS Planet Art, the Khaled Shoman Foundation among others. The book was launched by Sheikha Hoor Al Qassimi and the artist during Art Dubai and in the United States at the Dallas Art Fair.
Featuring texts from writers Kim Conaty, Lorenzo Fusi, Justine Ludwig, Elaine Ng, Sharmini Pereira, Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi and Falko Schmieder with an introduction by Justine Ludwig (Dallas Contemporary), and edited by Timo Kaabi-Linke, the book organises and analyses the prolific output of Nadia Kaabi-Linke until 2015, covering public commissions, large-scale sculptural projects, multi-media installations and intimate works on paper as exhibited in solo shows, biennials and museum exhibitions. Each of Kaabi-Linke's haunting works are referential - to a specific place, to a specific event, memory or feeling, offering them up for interpretation or examination. Through a thorough investigation of her working methods, influences and modes of thinking, this volume correlates and interrelates her artworks within the focus on choice of materials and production history.
The monograph is available for sale for AED 200
