Taus Makhacheva will participate in the School of Kyiv - Kyiv Biennial 2015 alongside a number of artists from Russia including Haim Sokol and Dmitry Gutov, among others.
Curated by Georg Schöllhammer and Hedwig Saxenhuber, the School of Kyiv opens on 8 September and runs until 1 November 2015 and will take place in a variety of settings in the city aiming to create a public space of reflection, breaking down barriers, and building bridges in the time of warfare.
The eight-week event, incorporates exhibitions and performances, film, multimedia experiments and broadcasts, and integrates permanent and open situations for learning and research. The School of Kyiv will be built around discussions and experimental platforms structured as “schools” addressing key social and artistic issues confronting Ukraine, Europe and the world today.
Makhacheva will present her 2015 video work Tightrope.
