We are delighted to announce that One and One #53 (2024) by Timo Nasseri has been acquired by the CC Art Foundation, China.
Part of Nasseri's ongoing One and One series, the work draws inspiration from muqarnas, the intricate honeycomb vaulting found in Islamic architecture. Flattening these three-dimensional forms into mesmerizing two-dimensional compositions, Nasseri creates geometric structures that expand outward from a central point in seemingly infinite combinations.
Rendered in white ink on densely pigmented black paper, each drawing is meticulously constructed by hand using only a compass and ruler. The resulting networks of interlocking triangles and geometric forms evoke both architectural precision and celestial constellations, reflecting Nasseri's longstanding exploration of mathematics, spirituality, and the hidden structures that connect art, science, and the natural world.
Founded by David Chau, the CC Art Foundation is a non-profit contemporary art institution in Shanghai dedicated to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and cultural equality through its exhibitions, collections, and educational initiatives.
