At the 2025 edition of the EVA International Biennial of Visual Art, artist and cultural producer Yazan Khalili presents All The Languages of Our Tongues (2025), a project that reimagines merchandise as both artistic medium and economic form. The work consists of 14 purchasable scarves carrying a poetic text authored by the artist.
Each scarf operates as a fragment of the larger text – printed on both front and back – evoking images of land, bodies, and political struggle. When assembled, they create a modular poem that speaks to hope and solidarity. As wearable fragments of a poetic whole, the scarves enact a form of knowledge transmission that resists algorithmic logic and the commodification of political discourse.
A limited number of scarves are available through the EVA shop (eva.ie), with proceeds supporting grassroots cultural initiatives directed by Khalili outside traditional cultural funding frameworks and institutional endorsement. Learn More.
