In conjunction with the re-opening of the gallery on 30 October 2023, Lawrie Shabibi is delighted to announce the appointment of Leonore-Namkha Beschi as our new Gallery Director.
Her career as a cultural worker brings a wealth of experience in exhibition-making, curatorial programming, project management, and art publications. Beschi brings a wide array of specialties to the gallery, including expertise in modern, contemporary and emerging art practices, cultivated through extensive travels and immersion in international art scenes. Her career trajectory includes formative years in the Gulf region, specifically in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, where she actively contributed to the regions emergence as a hub for dialogue and curatorial research on Arab modernity.
