Wafaa Bilal will be giving an Artist Talk entitled Making the Invisible Visible at the University of Maryland on Thursday, 7 April 2016 from 6.30 - 8.00 PM. In this public lecture, Bilal discusses specific works including Domestic Tension, Virtual Jihadi and the3rdi, elaborating on the evolution of his artwork, reflecting on his personal narrative and experiences living in both the conflict zone of Iraq and the comfort zone of the United States.
His dynamic, participatory work blends technology and performance to engage viewers in dialogue. The controversial aspects of his work spark deeper conversation, posing questions about political and personal realities.
