Glorious Silence began as a study of rocks in a cavern by the sea and an exploration into various techniques of abstract painting- light and shade, solid objects and water. I realized that in order to give it the sense of scale and wonder I needed to a point of reference. The rock in the foreground with the three tiny figures gives this sense, with the three gazing in awe at the rocks.
