Construction materials such as brass, copper and iron often become the basic mediums for art making. A 4 x 8 foot piece of construction metal sheeting has been melted and cast into the size of A4 paper. Calling forth processes and moments, the work has deformed and transformed the construction material from thin flat sheets to thick blocks.
As A4 is an international size used for daily paperwork, documents, archives and chains of information, the sculpted sheets cast into A4 are a metaphor for art logistics and systems. They also invoke temporality as they allude to the weighty history of sculpture.
