This work incorporates a photograph of the actor Rushdi Abaza (1926-1980) .
Rushdy Said Bughdady Abaza was a famous Egyptian actor coming from one of Egypt’s great aristocratic families. Born of an Italian mother and an Egyptian father, Rushdi Abaza was the scion of a respectable old family whose members held high posts in the state. As a student at St. Mark’s College in Alexandria, Rushdi spent more time body building and competing in athletics than at academic studies. He was well-proportioned and muscular, with a handsome face radiating Egyptian and Roman blood. He captivated the Egyptian cinema for a quarter of a century.
