Nubian tradition and the tales of his grandmother are Hassan’s first muse. For a long time, he has tried to save a language threatened by colonial exploitation and to give form to the Nubian sense of loss and displacement following the construction of the Aswan Dam in the 1960’s. The text includes various alphabetical letters and script with the main text reading: "Drift oh sky of the East and spread your sunlight across all other skies".
