'Refraction Sphere' is a light work composed of metal, LEDs, and colour filters. Although physically planar, its segmented light surfaces create a three-dimensional illusion, reading as a low-resolution sphere. Colour gradients and edge-lit transitions move across neighboring panels, suggesting light refracting through a solid material.
The work references the Earth as implied by the Dymaxion map. Its modular geometry reflects how we partition, flatten, and recombine the world’s geography, and points to the representational systems that shape how we understand global space.
