Abu Dhabi Art 2020

For this year's digital edition of Abu Dhabi Art we present a solo for Emirati artist Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim (b.1962), comprising a series of recent paintings, works on paper, and sculptures. Ibrahim is known for being one of the UAE’s earliest experimental artists and an influential member of the UAE’s now-historic avant-garde art community, which formed in the early 1980s. Through his form-led practice and handcrafted works, he responds to his environment with keen affinity for the natural landscapes of the UAE.

The first interactive digital edition of Abu Dhabi Art will bring together galleries and artists from across the world in a number of gallery exhibitions and sectors, presented by 6 guest curators including Simon Njami, Sung Woo Kim, Ashwin Thadani, Nada Raza, Maya El-Khalil and Rose Lejeune. Integrating live-stream video interviews with artists, curators and gallerists, the fair will also host a Performing Arts Programme, alongside a number of engaging projects for the public.
