Nadia Kaabi-Linke's second solo exhibition at Lawrie Shabibi examines how a society can withstand the tensions between the past and present. "These aspects of machismo are glorified in our society," she says. "The faster you drive, the better it is; the faster you get rich, the better it is; the higher you build, the better it is. The financial system is all based on one highway direction. You have one goal and you need to get it without looking at the collateral damages."
