Shaikha Al Mazrou participates in a group exhibition entitled Is Old Gold?, which opens at DUCTAC on 21 February and runs until 7 April, 2017. Curated by Cristiania de Marchi and Muhanad Ali, the show also includes works by Hassan Sharif, Taqwa Al Naqbi, Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim, Maitha Abdalla, Amal Al Khaja, Mohammed Kazem, Jumairy, Moza Al Matrooshi, Abdullah Al Saadi, Fatima Albudoor, Hind Mezaina, Husain Sharif, Alaa Edris and Alia Lootah.
The exhibition is part of DUCTAC's East/East-East initiative which aims to to initiate an experimental East-arts narrative. The programme is predicated on a belief that this narrative requires a new approach, one which is neither delineated by Western institutions nor remains the sole, privileged domain of Western-focused curators.
