Yazan Khalili at the Palestinian Museum, Birzeit

Yazan Khalili will participate in the inaugural exhibition of the Palestinian Museum in Birzeit, Palestine titled Jerusalem Lives (Tahya Al Quds), which opens on 27 August.  Curated by Reem Fadda and assistant curators Fawz Kabra and Yara Abbas, the exhibition attempts to examine the city of Jerusalem as a case study, a microcosm or condensed laboratory that metaphorically represents globalization and its failures, and to find answers that inspire us to struggle for a better future. Veering away from stereotypical clichés that mark the city, between the polarities of the nostalgic, the holy or the nationalistic, this exhibition will expose the deep-set neoliberal colonial and imperial challenges the city of Jerusalem and its people are facing.

Khalili will present a new work for the exhibition entitled Falling Stone, Flying Stone alongside his 2010 diptych Regarding Distance. The exhibition continues until 15 December 2017. Read more.
